Join fellow members for a 4-hour operator process class on October 14, 2026. The session will be held at the Glen Burnie Volunteer Fire Company Lodge in Glen Burnie, MD. The registration fee for WWOA members is $35.00 for the training, morning refreshments and shrimp feast lunch – what a bargain!! The non-member fee is $60.00 and includes a one-year WWOA membership. All registrations must be done online.

Technical Session: Disinfection in Water Treatment – TRE #7074-12-21 4 hours Process/Direct, approved by DNREC and ODW – Wastewater 5, A, Water 3, All Superintendents

Instructor: Will Shreve, Jr., City of Baltimore

Course Description: Disinfection training covers the fundamentals of chlorine and UV systems, emphasizing how each method protects public health, the factors that influence performance, and the operational math behind dose, demand, and residual. The class introduces core concepts like breakpoint chlorination, pH impacts, turbidity, UV’s mechanism of DNA/RNA disruption, and essential maintenance practices. It also walks operators through chlorine feed equipment, safety procedures, and real‑world troubleshooting, finishing with applied math exercises and a comprehensive review to reinforce safe, accurate, and effective disinfection operations
