WWOA provides up to 16 full scholarships to the WWO Short Courses each year, four per WWOA Section. Applications are drawn at our March board meetings.

The Water and Waste Operators Association of Maryland, Delaware, and District of Columbia (WWOA) is pleased to announce that it will award up to Sixteen (16) scholarships (four per section) to the 2026 Tri-Association Conference (Tri-Con), which will be held September 1st thru 4th, 2026, at the Roland Powell Convention Center in Ocean City, Maryland.
Each scholarship covers the cost of a Full Conference registration with ticketed events, and three nights’ lodging (Tuesday, September 1st; Wednesday, September 2nd; and Thursday, September 3rd) at one of the conference hotels. The value of each scholarship is over $650! Another great benefit of WWOA Membership!

Attendance: Scholarship recipients are expected to attend the full conference and are required to attend the WWOA Business Luncheon held on Thursday, September 3rd, at 12:30 in the Convention Center. Conference registration to open in early June.
*Should a scholarship winner not check in at the conference and attend the Business Luncheon, he/she will not be eligible for a Tri-Con scholarship again for the following three (3) years thereafter*
Eligibility: Only applicants that were 2025 WWOA members and are current 2026 WWOA members (2026 dues paid as of entry deadline of June 15th, 2026) are eligible.

Winners will be selected in a random drawing to be held on June 17th, 2026, at the WWOA Executive Board Meeting. Members need not be present to win. Only one entry per member will be accepted. You can find more information about the conference at www.ChesapeakeTricon.org.
To enter the drawing for the Scholarship, simply complete and return the entry form on the back of this notice, so that it is received before 4:00 PM on June 15th, 2026. WWOA is not responsible for lost, stolen, misplaced, incomplete, unreadable, or late entries.
The Scholarship is only valid for the 2026 Tri-Association Conference and is not transferable. If a winner is unable to attend or receives conference funding from any other source (excluding themselves), the scholarship will be awarded to an alternate winner.
Meals, other than those provided as part of the registration, are not included. Additional event tickets for each winner's spouse, children or guests, as well as transportation and tolls to and from the Conference, and other incidentals are the responsibility of the winner and will not be paid by WWOA. The registration fee and lodging will be paid directly to the Tri-Association Conference Committee and the hotel. No cash award will be made directly to the winner.
The $1,000.00 college scholarship is designed to assist and encourage qualified members of WWOA and dependents to further their formal education beyond secondary school in any of the "STEM" (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) or Environmental fields. The one-time award will be forwarded to the college on behalf of the successful recipient.
ELIGIBILITY
For you or your dependent to be eligible for a WWOA College Scholarship, you must be a current member for 2026 and have been a member for the prior year as well (2025).
