WWOA Southern Section is pleased to announce its Annual Meeting and Training. The following class will be offered:
Troubleshooting Centrifugal Pumps - TRE 190-86-09: All Operators, All Superintendents (Non-Process), 7.5 hours (1.5X).
Description: Operators will be introduced to the basic troubleshooting skills needed when a centrifugal pump shows signs of failure. The course includes a review of basic hydraulic terminology and component functionality. Additionally, a study of a typical pump curve and a discussion of water, brake and motor horsepower will provide the operator with a background in centrifugal pumps and their operating principles. Troubleshooting typical centrifugal pump problems based on given symptoms will be covered in detail.
Registration will include continental breakfast and lunch catered by Randy's Ribs. WWOA Member registration is $40.00. Non-member registration fee is $65.00 and includes a 2026 WWOA membership. You must register no later than February 20, 2026.

The Southern Section hosted a Section Membership Picnic at the 7th District Optimist Park in Bushwood, MD. The event, which drew over 50 members, their families, and friends, offered a perfect blend of delicious food, activities, and member interaction. Door prizes were awarded throughout the day and there was a 50/50 drawing. We look forward to next year's event!

The Southern Section hosted a Section Membership Picnic at Bowles Farm. The event, which drew 75 members, their families, and friends, was a resounding success, offering a perfect blend of delicious food, activities, and member interaction. Bowles Farm provided a delectable spread including hot dogs, hamburgers, a selection of sides, and desserts. But what would a picnic in Southern Maryland be without steamed crabs, freshly steamed on-site by Robbie Newton of Hollywood, Maryland. Door prizes were awarded throughout the day and there was a 50/50 drawing. We look forward to next year's event!
