The Water and Waste Operators Association of Maryland, Delaware and District of Columbia (WWOA) represents water, wastewater and biosolids professionals in the Chesapeake Bay region. We are professionals who are dedicated to improving the environment through the advancement of knowledge.

Often the communities we serve, and our employers do not fully recognize the extraordinary contributions we make on their behalf. Recognition from one's peers is among the greatest compliments a person can receive.
The awards will be announced and presented at the 2025 Tri-Con to take place August 26th thru August 29th at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center in Ocean City, MD. The nominee is not required to be present but strongly encouraged to attend and receive the recognition they so deserved. Nominations must be received by June 16, 2025, for consideration.
The Officer Ballot for 0225-2026 is now open. A simple majority of ballots cast is required for election to an office.
Voting is anonymous and must be cast by Tuesday, August 26, 2025. With the online ballot, you can vote approve or disapprove of the following nominations:
Tara Jones, WSSC Water for the position of President Elect
Kristy McAndrew, Charles County DPW for the position of Secretary
Mike Emery, Retired DC Water for the position of Treasurer
Pursuant to the by-laws, the following officers automatically ascend to the indicated position and no vote is required:
Paul Hignutt ascends to the position of Past-President
Bill Shreve, Sr. ascends to the position of Past-President
Results of the nominations voting will be presented at WWOA's Annual Meeting which will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2024, at the Tri-Association Conference in Ocean City, MD.

Effective July 1, 2025, all water and wastewater operators in Maryland must complete the EPA's Cybersecurity Training for Water and Wastewater Systems as part of their certification renewal process.
